Kansas City Ballet School
Open Division
We believe dance is for everyone, including teens and adults with little or no dance experience. The class schedule is flexible and you can take as many classes as your schedule allows.
Enjoy the fun and fitness of dance! Our drop-in classes meet weekly and you can attend any or all of the classes that suit your interests or level of ability.
To sign-up for an Open Division class, you can register online or in person. Signing up online speeds up your check in process and reserves your spot in class. Please allow a few extra minutes before the class you plan to take to check in at the front desk. We ask that you arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of class.
While there is no dress code for Open Division classes, it is asked that participants wear athletic clothing that you are able to move in. Ballet shoes are highly recommended for ballet class and tap shoes for tap class.
If you are new to dance, consider trying beginner classes, or ask the Open Division staff which classes to attend. If a level is not listed for the class, then all levels of experience are welcome! The Open Division staff are there to help you find what classes fit best.
At KC Ballet School, we believe dance is for everyone, including adults with little or no dance experience. Our Open Division class schedule is flexible and teens/adults can take as many or as few classes as their schedule allows.
There are offers available for college students, KCB Barre members, and KCB Season Subscribers, for ballet classes and class packs. Make sure to tell the front desk when you arrive for class to see if you qualify.
We offer two great locations in downtown Kansas City and in Johnson County.
Both campuses offer free adjacent parking. You may also use the Bolender Center’s drop off lane for convenience. The Bolender Center offers a security officer to ensure safety.
Kansas City Ballet School offers structured school year classes, as well as summer programs, for students wishing to hone their skills, get moving, and have fun. Most students need to take a placement class.
